Knowledge and experience are the keys to earning great winnings while still managing to have loads of fun in an online gambling environment. Knowing the rules and strategies of your favorite casino games will give you a big advantage on others and on the casino as well when you want to hit the big time at the Roulette table, in the Poker room, at Poker tournaments or other money-spinning events. Here are some of the games you've heard about and which you might come to know and love in the future: How to play Baccarat Baccarat or Punto Banco is played in a community, where everyone is concerned with the outcome of one hand only. The objective is to get a score as close to 9 as possible. In Baccarat, Aces are worth one point, the cards from 2 to 9 are worth their face value, 10s and face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 0. The score of every player is calculated by taking the sum of all the cards modulo 10. This means that the values of all the cards are added, and if their sum is larger than 9, the tens digit is ignored, and the value remaining is their score. For example, a hand consisting of a 3 and 4 is worth 7 (3+4=7); a hand consisting of 7 and 8 is worth 5 (7+8=15) - the first digit is dropped because the total is higher than 10; a hand consisting of 4 and 6 is worth 0, or Baccarat (4+6=10=0). The game is played on a table about the size of a scraps table, with three casino dealers and up to 12-14 players. In the online casino games the cards are dealt automatically by a virtual dealer. How to play Blackjack Blackjack, or 21, offers the player among the best odds in casino card games. The goal in Blackjack is to end the hand with a higher nu merical total than the deal, without going over 21. In this game, the player goes first and plays his hand by taking additional cards if he desires. If he "busts" (meaning that if he has a hand worth more than 21), he loses. Then the dealer plays his hand. If the dealer busts, he loses to all remaining players. If neither busts, the higher hand total wins. In case of a tie, no one wins - the hand is a "push." It is possible for the dealer to lose to some players but still beat other players in the same round. Each card has a numerical value, with the face cards (Jack, Queen, King) scoring 10 and the Ace scoring 11. So a 10 or face card plus an Ace scores 21 and gives you Blackjack. How to play Poker Poker is essentially a simple game. Its countless versions can be quite complex, so this explanation focuses on 5 card draw (i.e. "regular" poker), the easiest one for beginners to learn... First, each player places an ante or token bet before the card are dealt. The dealer deals five cards face down to every player around the table, starting on his left and continuing clockwise. After seeing his cards, the first player places his bet. There are several options here. If no one has made a bet yet, the player has two choices: to open - the player makes the first bet; check - the player doesn’t want to open the betting, but doesn’t want to quit either. After betting has been opened, there are three choices: to see - a player matches another players bet and gets to stay in the game; raise - betting more than the previous player; fold - meaning that the player gives up, places his cards face down on the table and loses whatever he had bet so far (used if the player thinks he is too weak to compete) At this point, the players who haven’t folded yet are allowed to exchange a maximum of 3 cards that they don’t want (face down, of course). The game ends when there are no more raises and the player with the highest hand wins the pot.
From best to worst, hands are ranked in the following order: Royal flush - This is the most valuable hand in all of poker. A royal flush is composed of 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all of the same suit. It's the toughest hand to get. Straight flush - Five cards in numerical order, all of the same suit. Hand one: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Hand two: 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King. Four of a kind - Four cards of the same numerical rank and another random card. If there are two or more hands that qualify, the hand with the highest-ranking four of a kind wins. Full house - Of the five cards in your hand, three have the same numerical rank, and the two remaining card also have the same numerical rank. Ties are broken first by the three of a kind, then the pair. So K-K-K-3-3 beats Q-Q-Q-A-A, which beats Q-Q-Q-7-7. Flush - A flush is comprised of five cards of the same suit, regardless of their numerical rank. In a tie, whoever has the highest ranking card wins. Straight - Five cards in numerical order, regardless of their suits. In a tie, whoever's straight goes to a higher ranking card wins Three of a kind - Three cards of the same numerical rank, and two random cards that are not a pair. Two Pair - Two sets of pairs, and another random card. One Pair - One pair and three random cards. If more than one person has a one pair, then the person with the highest ranking pair wins. High Card - If none of the players have anything of value, the player holding the highest-valued card wins, with the 2 as the lowest card, and the Ace as the highest. In the case of a tie, you move to the next highest card, and continue. How to play Craps Craps is a dice game played against other players or a bank. This can be a bewildering game for the beginner with the possibility of placing many different kinds of bets. Before starting to play, you must understand that Craps is a game of rounds. Players take turns on rolling the dice and have the possibility of betting on the shooter. The first roll in a round is called the come-out roll. Sometimes the outcome of a round will be determined on the come-out roll. In particular a 2, 3, or 12 on the come-out roll is called "craps"; a 7 or 11 is called a "natural" – both with the result of immediately ending a round. If any other total is rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) that number is called the "point". A white puck is placed on an area of the table to designate what the point is, in case you forget. If a point is rolled, the dice will be rolled continuously until the same point or a 7 is rolled. Back to top How to play Keno Keno is a very easy video casino game to play. Keno works somewhat like a lottery. You have to guess which numbers, between 1 and 80, will be randomly selected by the Keno machine. Each time the game is played, the player chooses between one and ten numbers (between 1 and 80) and the wagering amount. The Keno machine indicating the winning numbers will then randomly select 20 numbers. The objective is to match as many numbers as possible. The number of matches will be highlighted and a possible payout will be rewarded based on the number of matches.
How to play Pai Gow Pai Gow is a Chinese gambling game played with a set of dominoes. At the beginning of the game, tiles are randomized on the table, and are stacked into eight stacks of four tiles each in an assembly known as the "woodpile". Various shuffles are made, rearranging the tiles in the woodpile in standard ways that result in a new woodpile. Bets are then made. Next, each player (including the dealer) is given four tiles with which to make two hands of two tiles each. The hand with the lower value is called the "front hand", and the hand with the higher value is called the "rear hand". If a player's front hand beats the dealer's front hand, and the player's rear hand beats the dealer's rear hand, then that player wins the bet. If a player's front and rear hands both lose to the dealer's respective hands, the player loses the bet. If one hand wins and the other loses, the player is said to "push" and only gets back the money he bet. Generally seven players will play, and each player's hands are compared only against the dealer's hands. Pai Gow changed its original version of using special dominoes and dice with a deck of 53 playing cards (including Joker). It uses poker-like hands for ranking. It is rather a slow game with showdowns often resulting in ties. This allows a player with a modest stake to last longer at the table than would be possible with other (faster) casino games. All wins in Pai Gow are at even money, less the house's 5% commission. How to play Roulette Roulette is a gambling and a casino game named by a French word meaning “small wheel”. To win, you need to guess where the ball will land after each spin. This is not at all easy since luck plays an important part. Bets are placed on either a number, a range of numbers, whether the numbers are odd or even, and on the color red or black as well. Players, usually up to eight, play against the house represented by the croupier also called the dealer, who spins the roulette wheel and handles the wagers and payouts. The wheel spins in one direction and the ball spins in the opposite direction. When the ball loses momentum, it falls into one of the colored and numbered pockets of the wheel, thus determining the winner. In the European roulette and French roulette version, the wheel has 37 slots (pockets) representing 36 numbers and one zero. In the USA most roulette wheels have two zeros and therefore 38 slots. Back to top How to play Slots The most popular game in casinos is Slots or 'One arm bandits'. The reason is that they are very easy to use and can often pay out large amounts, especially when playing a progressive slot machine. Slots are casino gambling machines with three or more reels which spin when a button is pushed or a lever is pulled – the lever was available especially in the old fashioned games, from which derived the name of ‘one arm bandits’. The goal is to get identical reels after each spin to win. These days reels have been replaced with images that imitate their movement and in order to win they have to be either identical or come in a certain pattern on the screen of the machine, depending on the kind of slot you choose.
How to play Video Poker The only thing similar between video poker and a regular slot machine play is that you begin the games in the same way. You insert a coin into the machine and press the play button. Then cards appear on the screen and you decide whether which cards to hold - ranging from none to all five. There are five buttons on the front of the machine which will ‘hold’ a displayed card for you when pressed. As in regular Poker, your objective in video poker is to get the best or highest hand possible.
